As someone who has dealt with Type One Diabetes for the past fourteen years, and someone who loves writing, it was recently suggested to me that I begin a blog.
This came about after I published a piece on social media that I had written on the stigma around Type One Diabetes, and the ignorance that surrounds a condition that affects millions of people nationwide. (You can find this in the “blogs” section on the right hand side!) So many people got in touch with me, diabetics and non diabetics alike, to tell me how moved they were, and how much it had opened their eyes to what we have to go through on a daily basis. It really inspired me to start sharing more of my stories and opinions.
I don’t claim to be a health care expert, and any advice or opinions in my blog are purely my own, and should never replace a doctor’s advice, but twelve years worth of experience in dealing with this condition day in, day out, I think it’s safe to say I do have some level of knowledge and experience when it comes to managing Type One Diabetes.
I’ll try to post as often as possible on any diabetes related topics, and occasionally I’m sure a non diabetes related one will pop up! I’d love to hear your stories and experiences, or if there is anything you would like me to write about or give an opinion on, please feel free to leave comments or email me
Thanks for reading!
